The ST-1 features a 47″ raised music rest that is the longest on any institutional piano, back posts that measure 80mm x 80mm for maximum rigidity and stable tuning, longer keys for more consistent touch response, and a “Soft Fall” fallboard closing system that protects hands and the piano’s finish from the harm that jarring close might cause. Of course, the ST-1 continues to rely on Kawai’s exclusive Millennium III Upright Action with ABS-Carbon parts as the foundation for consistent, reliable performance.
